Marks/Inscriptions: B. 272 B latte, John (1817-79) was born in Co . Longford. He and his wife margaret, 44, daus Janes 8 Margaret, 18 , Jane 17 , Mary, 10, Catherine. + sons Alex 15M1 aub os qt. John 2 came out by the Royal Stuart and arrived in '61 . It is eleve that Geo. Beatie of hotel fame was also his son. He bought R.S. 78 21 on the Hone bush track of 165 ac. freehold. Geo his son later took t over . He died at Courtenay in '79. some Beattie are buried at Riccarton Cem which appear to be this family. pass lis b. Ref.
