Marks/Inscriptions: B. 232 Baxter, Andrew (1844-1919) was born in Lanarkshire and was brought up on a farm . He and his brother John came out in the David 6 . Fleming arriving in . He worked for ten years in the buist in Banks Pen. In '73 he moved to View Hill, Oxford where he and his brother John had a sawmill in part. They also worked a threshing plant from '77 -94 John Parlane says they used the same engine for both , abandoning their Sa milling in the harves t Season . He owned a farm of 200ac with 120 ac. of Maoi leasehold which he called mountain View . Gillespie says the Bax ter brothers operated the Point sawmill, wes 1 of Mounsey,'s Road for ten years. He continued to farm moun Rain View till 1913. He served fo r thee years on the Ofr East Oxford Sch . Comm. and for ten years on the oxford Rd. Bd. and Co. Coun. He was a member of the Oxford A o. Assoc. He and his wife celebrated their golden wedding in 19.7. marr. in '67 Susan a dau. of A. Brown of Lesmahagor , Scot. widow.
