Marks/Inscriptions: B. 210. J. Basing thwaites He advertised the freehold of the Red hon for sale Dec. 76 subject to a short lease at a rental of £300 a year . In '79 he was charged with concealing in on ee preliminary to declaring him self bankrupt. £800 in cash was discovered - about £500 in notes sewn ups in his wifes clothes and £300 in gold. His story had been that he had gone to Dunedin with £2400 and had had it all stolen there. Judge Johnston sentenced him to twelve months imprison men 1Ap.t was then an old man and died dining the tern of his sentence. in d. at St Asaph 81 . 13.1.80 aged 72.
