Marks/Inscriptions: B. 95 Ballinger, W llam Ingram (1843 -1913) was born in Glos. Eng and 20.1.64 arrived in Lyt y the ship Tiptree (Capt. J. Davis) she was of 1650 tons and there 612 passengers. He has worked in the dodson in Eng for 3t a day and was a single man of twenty when he arrived . He became a Cartagena contractor and was later president of the Ch Ch Carters union and was a member of the Trades Council . He worked very hard to get W .P. Reeves into Palt in 191. He was ice - pres. of the Cu Ch Liberal Assoc. and was for tao years Res. of the Progressive Liberal Assoc. He was made a J.P. to represent labour on the Bench at the time of the great maritime strike in the '90s. He took a f prominent part in the founding of the industrial building societies. He stood for ChCh C.C. South East ward hit was beater by W. Thompson Sept.91. There was a great - Tiptree e - union in 1904 in which he took part. marr. (1) at his home Ferry Road 5.10.70 by Rev , W.
