Marks/Inscriptions: A. 242 Archer, Fulbert As ley (1859-191) was born in Melbourne, the eldest son and second child of Fulbert Archer q.v. The family returned to England and then came out to N.Z. by the Matoaka Feb. '68. He fished his Educ. at X;Coll 71-. 77 . He was a g o0d archer and played for the Canty X1 ". O ago Wgtn and Auck. and Yor the Canty d.v. v. Wgtn in 83 . He won the 2mite walking rave at the S.C.A.A.C. meeting at Timaru May. 80. He was present at the first C.C.O.B.8 dinner held in London 31.3.82 . He was in ChCh in 83 and won the 44o yds and 150 yds for N.C.Os. at the College Rifles Sports. These sports were held at Lancaster Park in that year to raise funds f the College Rifles. He was gazetted C.pl Lieut. C .Y.C , Sept. 84. He was an auctioneer ie the firm of Miles + o and when theat form went into voluntari liquidation, Jan, 95, Archer ann ounce d that he would co carry on the Canty. business under his own name . In a few day Dalgety Plo were able to announce that they had taken over the business of Mills + Co and Archer joined them. He became stock auction ver and rose to be Canty. manager of Dalgety + Co . He had to resign in 1910 owing to ill - health. fam. inf. .
