He was brought up on his fathers farm and came out to Canty in '75 and for the years worked Canty in as a shearer and Engine dir i5er. ant y he bought 182 ac at Pareora and in 87 leased an educational reserve of 417 ac. in the Beaconsfield dist. where he made his home. He also owned 156 ac . at Coonoor S.W. of Timaru. . He was a directs of the Canty . Farmers Co-op. Assoc. and was a member and chairman of the Pareora Sch. Comm. He was made a J.V. in 97. He was a member of the Land Commission which made recrimi end atie abut Govt. leasehold . He was appointed to the Leg. Coun. Jan. 07. married 20.9.81 Bessie dau of P.
