He was educ. partly at Leich at lter school art w h Sir Rob t. Stout was a Reacher. He came to N.Z. in '64 and finished his education at Dunedin and was taken on as a clerk in a warehouse. When he was only 20 he appointed manager of g dworkin , Bennett + Co n Ch Ch. He became N.Z. manager of the form. He sued N. W. Edwards , trading Edwards " Semel + Co overa question of salary . In 9e he resigned to become manager of the ChCh heat to, later to absorb the N.Z. Refrigeration Co of Otago and to take on its name. In g 10906 the Coy had a very bad year by reason of having bought heavily at a fairly high price and then having struck a market ( s in London which continued to fall the whole Season.
