Marks/Inscriptions: A. 154 the son of Edmund Amyes ayes , Edward Burton was born in Hereford hire and came out Amyes to Port Chalmers in 62 in the Bombay. He was educated at Waikouaiti and Palmerston South and learnt business and at Waikouaiti d farming He spent two years in the North Is. and then farmed in the Selwyn dist. for 4 years . apparently his farm was at G len tunnel. A gazelle of Nor. 83 sail that E.B.Amyes of Springbank , Glentunnel was declared a rang or of the dist. He returned to Palmerston South in '58. He was an expert in dairy - factories and was appointed Sec. to the S. Canty Dany Factory Chairman A.C. Thomps on. He was a ember of the Palmerston South Rifles. He was the son of Edmund Amyes of Oak hampton. marr. 1881 a dau. of Robert oxley of Waikceiciti 2sons 1 dar.
