Marks/Inscriptions: A. 152. Amyes, Edmund. (1811. -1900) came from Sho phineas . He came int in 60. in the Bom bay with his wife and family . His wife 's name was Elizabeth Ie k. It is nt known what happened to him between 60 and '75 but in that year he made an agreement for sale and purchase. with R.M. Morten for his Hornby farm called. Broadlands. It stretched from Springs Road to incen toad opp. to Mt. Mag dal ar. and was of bit over 5o0 ac. It was said thet Morten was amoy ed at the South ridge railway hia going though his farm and thes was the reason for his selling. he purchase price was £ go0 . Annes only pard down fe 500. The conveyance from Morte to Ames (by which he took title) was dated 2.7.81 The present house is not now rec og usable as an old house but n good Still deal of the old house is there behind modern additions is stitt bee. a Small acreage round the farm is still cany ing high class stock. she farm buildings of Leary Stone steibs ar still in excellent order . The wad running from Springs Road to Lincoln is called Annes Rd. after Edmond Amyes. He remained the farm Oak hamp tor after his hong . He used to hold an Annet sale of fat stock .
