Marks/Inscriptions: A. 145 Ambrose , Thomas Benyamun (1818 -94) was born in Edinburgh 18.7.18 and was the younger son of Wm. Ambrose of Pearly Place, Edinburgh Profess or Wilson in his Notes Ambris.ana refers to Ambrose See v. He meant to study medecins but when tis father died he had to change over to law. He caught a bad cold which made him deaf for an arrived 21.8.66 life. He sailed for N.Z. in the Wm. Miles with his wife Mary aged 27, Thos. w in his son aged 5 and his younger son John Andrew. He described himself as carpenter in the pass list. He held various prov. Govt. offices fling up in the Privy Sec; Office where he worked from 70 to 74 . He livel in retirement from 76 onwards. Asa d.ild he was often mussed bey William Hogg the Ettrick shepherd. His father in-law hln Andrew late of Trades ton Cour Mills , CG Cagey dred at Ferre law Collage South Selwyn St. aged 76. his alderson T.W.
