The foreground of the photograph shows a blue temporary water supply pipe and markings spray painted on the footpath in preparation for repair work. The fence has a home made sign painted with the Fulton Hogan (FH) logo satirized to "Finally Happening?".

The retaining walls above and below Cunningham Terrace were severely damaged by the 22 February 2011 earthquakes. As a result, the road was blocked off and some houses were red stickered. The long period of disruption to daily life resulted in local artists expressing their opinions on the handling of the situation through satirical artworks. At the time these works were created it was 14 months since the earthquakes. Work started on constructing the retaining wall to support the road in August 2012 and the road was reopened (but not sealed) in April 2013.
