Surgical Kit
Description
Mahogany box with lock containing 46 items of surgical and related equipment made by Down Brothers, London. Not engraved with a name but securely provenanced to George Levick. Levick served as Surgeon aboard Terra Nova and was a member of the Northern Party, stranded over Winter 1912 at Inexpressible Island. It is uncertain if Levick used this kit during the expedition. The remarkably good condition suggests this is unlikely.
