Background
This Mud House 2010 Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc wine has a distinctive title: The Day the Ground Moved like Jelly. The wine is part of a special release to fundraise for those affected by the 4 September 2010 earthquake in Christchurch. Bella Kingi, aged 8 of Lyttelton, drew a picture of an earthquake damaged house during the days that Lyttelton Main School closed. This picture was chosen by Mud House Winery to feature on the front label of the wine bottle. The back label details the fundraising effort supported by the sale of the bottle. 10,000 bottles of this commemorative wine were sold within two weeks of its release, contributing over $269,000 dollars to the Christchurch Mayoral Earthquake Relief Fund.
