Researcher comments/remarks
Amongst the items left at the site of the Canterbury Television (CTV) building, which collapsed during the 22 February 2011 earthquake, was this pair of shoes. They may have been left in remembrance of someone who died in the building or perhaps for someone to use in their journey to the afterlife. These shoes were one of many items recovered from the CTV site, in partnership with Christchurch City Council, to be added to Canterbury Museum’s collection on the first anniversary of the February earthquake.
