Description
One black, red and white plastic-backed fabric uniform badge commemorating the 22 February 2011 earthquake; the words 'Christchurch 6.3 Quake' are embroidered in red along the top along with '22-2-2011' and '12.51pm'; Along the bottom are the words 'In Memory'; In the centre is a map of New Zealand in green with a red embroidered star over Canterbury. Along the left and right hand sides various organisations within New Zealand and internationally which played a role following the earthquakes are listed in white. The reverse is white and the reverse of the stitching can be seen.

This badge is an example of the unofficial expressions of recognition and gratitude that were demonstrated for international teams who assisted following the 22 February 2011 earthquake. The badge has the words ‘Christchurch 6.3 Quake’, ’22-02-2011’ and ’12.51pm’ embroidered in red along the top and ‘In Memory’ along the bottom. In the centre of the badge is a map of New Zealand in green with a red embroidered star over Canterbury. Along the left and right hand sides are listed the various organisations within New Zealand and internationally which played a role following the earthquakes.
