Commemorative Badge: Australian Emergency Services, Christchurch Earthquake 2011
One red and black plastic-backed fabric uniform badge commemorating the Christchurch earthquake; badge has a red background with a black circular inset inside of which is a map of New Zealand in white with red concentric circles emanating from the Canterbury region. Across the top run the words 'Christchurch Earthquake 2011' and along the bottom 'AFP, NSW PF, VIC POL, SA POL, NSW RESCUE & FIRE', all in black. On the reverse is a sticker with a blue background advertising Hunter badges and patches.
This badge is an example of the unofficial expressions of recognition and gratitude that were demonstrated for international teams who assisted following the 22 February 2011 earthquake. Australian emergency services are listed across the bottom and the badge has a red background with a black circular inset. Inside the inset is a map of New Zealand in white with concentric circles in red emanating from the Canterbury region that indicate the epicentre of the earthquake.
