Researcher comments/remarks
A borehole log gives a description of the type of drilling conducted, a list of the materials recovered and an associated depth as well as an analysis of the recovered materials found whilst drilling a borehole. This log is recorded as an appendix to one of the many technical reports independently commissioned by Canterbury Museum following the 4 September 2010, 22 February 2011, 13 June 2011 and 23 December 2011 earthquakes. It analyses the sediment samples from the borehole drilled next to the Rolleston Avenue facade of the Museum, detailing that the primary types of sediment recovered from that borehole were gravel, silt and sand.
