Book: Quake: The Big Canterbury Earthquake of 2010
One soft-cover book entitled 'Quake: the Big Canterbury Earthquake of 2010' with colour photographs by David Wethey and text by Ian Stuart.
‘Quake: The Big Canterbury Earthquake of 2010’ contains aerial photographs of the damage to many major heritage sites in Canterbury between Kaiapoi and Darfield after the 4 September 2010 earthquake. This book records the exceptional survival of the ChristChurch Cathedral, a symbol of Christchurch city, through the 4 September 2010 earthquake. Since 22 February 2011 and the damage caused by other aftershocks the future of ChristChurch Cathedral was subjected to considerable debate. Significantly this book provides a snapshot in time demonstrating the feeling and spirit of Canterbury in the few months between the 4 September 2010 and 22 February 2011 earthquakes. Proceeds from the sale of this book were donated to the Canterbury Earthquake Appeal Fund.
