Description
Circular pommel cap for a sword, of dark steatite (soapstone) with high-relief carving of a standing bear (or lion) with tub and vase on the obverse and low-relief scrolling and abstract human forms on the reverse, with a central hole. Style similar to Scythian art. (see production notes)
