Description
Dagger or kindjal from the Caucasus: straight-edged leaf blade with double fuller and traces of engraved cartouche with Cyrillic or Arabic inscription, and proof marks on reverse side. Wooden hilt with two raised medallions, one in form of a curved knife; quillon of silvered brass. Wooden scabbard with remains of blue velvet over leather covering; silver and niello fittings with engravings including a crescent; leather thong to attach to belt.
