Bone china straight-side cup and saucer, white ground with red and black Maori rafter (kowhaiwhai) pattern and gilded rims. Design adapted by Augustus Hamilton from traditional sources and range produced by Royal Doulton from 1908 to late 1920s.

Marks/Inscriptions: E4988; Type of mark: Model number; Method: Painted; Notes: Code E for bone china; pattern number for shape.
