Chamois: Document

Description
A piece of chamois which was connected to a pair of skis and a ski pole belonging to Herbert Ponting. The chamois has text burnt into it. Text says "Skis' from Cape Evans" They were found at Capt Scott's base hut for the 1919 - 13 expedition & presented to Jack "Sand" Sandman in recognition for his work in restoring two of the historic huts in the Antarctic 1960 - 61".
