Flask: Hip

Description
Glass brandy flask with pewter 'cup" in which container fits. With stitched leather around upper half.

Given by Sir Ernest Shackleton to donor's grandfather who among other things was a carrier in Wellington "in recognition of some small service" performed when Shackleton called into Wellington possibly during T.A.E. 1914-17.
Engraved on the base of the cup is a stag over a bag (?) of gold.
