Description
A long broad band of canvas with leather strap sewn into one end.
Paper label with band states it to be a pony harness waistband, presumably from British National Antarctic Expedition 1907-09.
The band is made from broad flat canvas one end is cut off square and appears slightly frayed. This end has the remains of stitching in a rectangular shape. The opposite end has a strap of brown leather sewn down the middle this strap is sewn around it outside and has holes punched through it at several intervals. The canvas band at this end has been folded so as to form a dart shape.
There is a small section of string tied through the second hole in the strap.
