Model: Antarctica Hut Donation Box

Description
A plastic model of the hut constructed by Capt. Scott's party at Hut Point, Ross Island during the 1901-04 British National Antarctic Expedition. Model is of the hut as it would have appeared in the late 1960s -early 1970s with NZ Historic Places Trust plaque by entrance door. Hut is constructed from brown and clear plastic sheet to simulate wood and glass of the real thing. The ground is simulated with small pebbles to form the shingle base. The model is mounted on a section of hardboard.
