Description
Three sections of 'left overs' from glove/mitten holders made by women in Christchurch for members of the British National Antarctic Expeditions. The lamp wick normally used for lighting lamps but in this case it is used to make the strapping that secured the mittens together around the neck of the wearer. The lamp wick is made of cotton that is sewn into a tube form.
