This photograph features the fence of Christchurch Girls' High School’s basketball courts with the St Elmo’s Courts building in the background. During the 4 September 2010 earthquake St Elmo’s Courts were damaged, this was compounded by the 22 February 2011 earthquake and the building was demolished. Completed in 1930 the courts were Christchurch’s first apartment complex. This photograph records the new addition of a penthouse to St Elmo’s Courts, built in 1985.
