Researcher comments/remarks
The Road Services division of New Zealand Railways was a major player in the provision of long-distance bus services in Christchurch. They were based for many years in a former motor showroom and workshop on Victoria Street, as shown in this photograph from 1985. This building was demolished in 1990 and replaced by the Christchurch Casino which survived the 2010-2011 Canterbury earthquakes.
