Description
The badge is a wing (note only single wing) as issued to naval aviators of the observation branch. The badge shows the wearer has successfully completed an observer's course. The badge which is made of brass with a possible gold coating consists of a shield covering an anchor. The shield has both vertical and horizontal lines. This is the symbol of the Department of the Navy. To the right of this is a single wing possibly representing that of the bald eagle? The rear of the badge has a simple clasp system.
