Description
An enlarged model or mock up of a 'cut throat' razor possibly used in 'crossing the line' ceremonies on board the Terra Nova. The model is made of wood which has been carved and shaped to look like the handle and blade. The handle is black and the blade is silver. The handle is constructed of three layers of wood which have been riveted together, one of the rivets also acts as a hinge. The wooden blade disappears inside the handle when closed and has a section sticking out that acts as an assistance for opening. The handle has at one side on one end a engraving of a penguin and the letters B.A.E. 1910 The other side of the blade has the word TERRA NOVA.R.Y.S. engraved and outline in pink. The wooden blade also has engraved on one side and outlined in black the following RASPO.
