St. John's Anglican Church in Hororata was built in memory of Rose Anne Hall, following a bequest by her husband Sir John Hall, former Prime Minister of New Zealand. The church was consecrated on 27 February 1911. St. John's received substantial damage in the 2010/11 earthquakes and is currently closed. Church services have moved to a nearby wooden church.
