Researcher comments/remarks
Two proposed designs for the Christchurch Supreme Court were produced by Benjamin Mountfort during his partnership with Maxwell Bury. The first was largely influenced by Bury, but the second set was produced in 1867 after Bury had departed for England the year before. Both these designs were set aside in favour of Alexander Lean’s design which was constructed in 1868 and demolished in 1980. UNSURE AS YET WHICH DESIGN THIS IS.
