Description
Anorak, Blue windproof well used and modified with neck zipper, wired hood with hook and ring. Crutch strap removed. A light cotton anorak made from royal blue windproof material. The parka has an integral hood, which is trimmed with wolverine fur backed by a metal stiffener. The hood has a nylon cord running around the Wolverine trim on the hood to pull it tightly around the wearer's face. An additional double layer grey brim with wire stiffener has been added which fastens at the front with a metal hook and ring. The parka has a zip-closed pocket that stretches across the front of the jacket. The pocket has a material flap over it.There is a section of brown leather sewn across the top of the pocket at the approximate point of the wearer's throat with H N Sandford burnt into it. Half way down the chest there is a draw cord that passes though a piece of brown leather reinforcing, and is secured by a clear perspex toggle. At the bottom of the parka is another draw cord to pull the bottom of the parka tightly around the wearer. The cuffs of the sleeves are secured by means of a material tab with a leather reinforced buttonhole, this is secured by one of two plastic buttons, thus the cuffs are adjustable. The rear of the collar region has a blue/white tag that reads as follows: "Robert Lawrie Ltd. London W.1. - Alpine Equipment Specialists" with an image of a climber on it.
