Round plate with scalloped rim with band of cobalt blue overglaze, and thin gilt band around rim. Cobalt blue crest for "Discovery Antarctic Expedition 1901" with penguin in centre of circular belt motif placed near rim. Doulton Burslem mark Rd. No. 72067 in centre of underside. Doulton plate with crest of Discovery Expedition, 1901-04.
