One black and white photograph showing seven men breaking ice to try to widen a narrow lane of water. The photograph appears to have been exposed with another, as the 'ghost' of another image showing men's legs and iron rings on the ship's deck can also be seen. Accompanied by a handwritten caption stating 'Men on floes trying to widen a narrow lane in another attempt to get out. Jan 29'.
