Japanese sword (katana) & scabbard
Description
Japanese two-handed sword and scabbard. Sword: copper habaki; tsuba, fuchi and kachira of iron; menuki and other hilt decorations are missing, but remains of material attached to the kachira show that the hilt was once bound with black tape. There are no inscriptions on the tang. The scabbard is of dark red-brown lacquered wood; kojiri of iron.
