Description
Two-handed sword and scabbard used by officer of Japanese Army, Burma, 1940s. Brass habaki; seppa of brass or copper, tsuba of brass; fuchi of copper and brass; kachira of copper. a brass-coloured lacquer covers most of the hilt fittings. Menuki are not present on the sword hilt which is covered with whitish ray skin. The sword tang is inscribed. The scabbard is metal, painted brown; kojiri of brass lacquered copper.
