Carried to New Zealand in 1948 by A.E. Lorimer, of Christchurch, who worked in China in the 1940s with the Y.W.C.A. Miss Lorimer visited Alley at the Shandan Bailie School in 1947. In 1956, loaned to the Rewi Alley Chinese Art and Crafts Exhibition, held at the Provincial Council Chambers, Christchurch.
