??? - Son of Mary Ecclesia Chudleigh (née Lyne). Born in Cornwall, he sailed to NZ in 1861. He worked on Springs Station and Mt Peel Station, South Canterbury. (Samuel Butler association aged 19 in 1861, son of Cornish rector). Married Mabel Potts, no children. Went to Wharekauri, Chatham Islands in 1866. Settled in Waikato 1909. Left farm to brother's family. He and his wife are buried in the graveyard of the Church of the Holy Innocents, Mount Peel Station. See NZ National Bibliography 1890-1960, Part 2 A-H, p 245
