These are my great great grandparents- Edward James Lee and his wife, Harriet Maria Lee (nee Paul). EJ arrived on Lady Nugent in 1849 Nelson- found an inland route from Nelson to Canterbury to bring sheep down. Partner and friend of Edward Jollie (surveyor) they both owned Parnassus Run for a few years before settling in Southbridge, Selwyn. EJ became MP for Selwyn but didn’t serve his term as died 1883. His wife was daughter of Rev Robert Bateman Paul. The child is likely to be eldest son, Louis Edward George Lee.
