Bottle: snuff

Description
One ceramic snuff bottle glazed in various hues. In the form of a bare-chested robed figure with its left hand on its breast and its right hand grasping the handle of a paddle-shaped instrument slung over its shoulder. Metal stopper moulded in the shape of a crown.

Provenance details
One of a consignment carried to New Zealand in 1957 by George Jackson of Auckland, and from Auckland to Christchurch by Jack Locke, including 22 snuff bottles.
