Description
One glazed ceramic double figurine of the bodhisattva of compassion Guanyin and a swaddled infant posed on pink lotus blossoms attached to a green base. Guanyin is depicted standing supporting a gold jug in her left hand and holding an orange and black willow branch in her right. She wears a green petticoat beneath a wide-sleeved dress patterned in white and blue; this ensemble surmounted by an orange headdress that falls around her shoulders and back. She also wears an orange-coloured necklace and pendant. The hair and facial features of Guanyin and the infant are detailed in black and their lips in orange. The faces of both figures are coloured a lighter orange-white. The figure of Guanyin has been broken off its base and subsequently reattached. The second lotus bud with the figure of an infant remains broken into several pieces.
