Description
One glazed blue and white ceramic soft paste snuff bottle. A short narrow neck surmounts an elongated cylindrical body and a circular base. Neck ringed with botanical pattern. Body exhibits continuous design of a dragon and a phoenix. On the base is the mythical beast Qilin.

Likely carried to New Zealand by Trevor Gebbie, who visited Beijing in 1958 and was given objects by Alley, including snuff bottles, to deliver to Canterbury Museum.
