Description
Two carved wooden figurines, most likely figurines of the tindalo type atop a small wooden pedestal. One figure is a male squatting with arms stretched forward. Hands are open palmed facing upright. Ears are pierced, genitalia intact and typical raised ridge collar bone and facial features. The other figure is a female standing upright, with arms stretched forward. Ears are pierced, genitalia intact. Hands are open palmed facing upright holding a limp male child or infant lying facing upright.

Provenance details
Ron James and Frances Willems lived on Gatokae Island, in the Solomon Islands during 1970s to 1980s and then from 1995 to 2000 as gold prospectors. Ron was a collector of indigenous art and people from neighbouring islands would come and sell to him.
