Description
Grey overchecked aqua and navy. Swing back tent coat. Bias sleeves. Foldover collar. 1953 D143 (MRM).

Neckline: Rounded at the base of the throat except for the centre front which is flat for 3.5cm. Self faced. Attached to lining.

Collar: One piece that folds over on itself and is sewn under at the neckline. 13cm at widest point (front of collar). 2.5cm wide at narrowest point (back of collar).

Bodice Style: Straight.

Sleeve Style: Inset, two piece sleeve, cut on bias, lined. Turn back cuff (on the straight of grain). 9.5cm deep, top stitched top edge.

Waistline: Attached into the side seams at waist height are dark grey cotton thread, undefined. Knotted belt keepers 4cm wide.

Skirt Shape: Straight at front, flared at back.

Seams: Machine sewn grey cotton thread.

Edges: Raw.

Buttons: Self covered slightly convex rounded buttons 3cm diameter.

Buttonholes: Keyhole, fawn coloured cotton thread.

The top of the neck lining has a large patch 6.5cm deep x 29cm wide of grey twill, lining fabric hand sewn on top of it.
