Description
NECKLINE AND COLLAR:

NECKLINE: Rounded front + back, self faced, understitched, opens at C.B. closed by metal hook + beige cotton thread banket stitch eye.

COLLAR: Standing soft collar in contrast fabric, 5.5cm deep, placed at base of neckline is a matching fabric bow 11 x 1.8cm. There is evidence that originally the back of the collar was tacked down onto the back of the bodice but this has since come away (snag on RHS of collar + thread on bodice).

BODICE STYLE: Semi-fitted.

SLEEVE STYLE: Magyar (?), 3/4. Hem: Turned under twice 4.5cm, machine neatened + handsewn in place. Lined.

WAISTLINE: Natural, semi-fitted, sewn into the waistline is a 5.5cm wide bias strip of self fabric facing down. Metal hook + beige cotton thread blanket stitched eye as closure across zip at waist.

SKIRT SHAPE: Straight.

COMMENTS: Evidence of dress having been let out in both the top & skirt - esp on lining where old stitching line is evident - neat alteration. SEAMS: Outer: Machine sewn, beige cotton thread. Lining: Machine sewn - cream polycotton thread. EDGES: Pinked.
