Description
Pink broderie lawn sleeveless dress, unpressed centre skirt pleat. D139 1940s-1950s (MRM).

Neckline: Round, fitting at the base of the throat. Self faced at the front neck. The back is faced with a bias strip of matching fabric.

Collar: One piece, Peter Pan collar. Maximum depth 5cm.

Bodice Style: Semi fitted.

Sleeve Style: No sleeve. Armhole slightly inset, faced with bias strip (as back neck).

Waistline: Natural, fitted with belt. Belt faced with a complimentary patterned cotton fabric in white, pink, red and green. Four metal belt holed D shaped belt buckle covered in pink cotton fabric, belt keeper covered in same fabric. Back of belt covered in imitation white leather. Belt top stitched with white cotton thread. At either side seam at the waistline are pink cotton thread belt loops. The one on the right side is original (neat blanket stitch keepers) 3.5cm wide. The left side is an addition (some sort of macrame knot - not very good workmanship). 2.7cm wide.

Skirt Shape: Flared.

Seams: Machine sewn, pink cotton thread.

Edges: Raw or selvedge.

Buttons: 1.2cm diameter opaque cream plastic buttons, two holes, raised outer edge.
