Description
Earthenware baluster shape vase with Greek transfer decoration. Imitation "Etruscan" ware.
White glaze interior and base; matt black exterior. Flat rim 11mm wide with tongue pattern border edged with gilt; Greek wave pattern border on shoulder; 2 central motifs: soldier farewelling family; grief-stricken women; tongue pattern border on flat foot.
Backstamp:[unidentified] discus thrower.
