Description
Salt glaze stoneware round teapot with conical spout and split cane handle attached by plaited cane to 2 loops.
Underglaze rolled herringbone pattern in browns on natural beige-cream, 3 incised concentric lines at base of neck; loops for handle have decorative boss incised; lid has flat surface with raised knob and steam vent. Lip of spout cut off slightly unevenly. No marks. Base glazed except for 3 areas where rested on kiln stilts. Sticky paper labels: "41" [catalogue number]; "G.Halliday $110".
