W Bro D J (Jim) Simpson Worshipful Master The Crown Lodge No 138 December 1983/84. Jim was an accomplished ritualist secretary for many years and he and his wife were caretakers of the Wordsworth Street building where they washed and dried the dishes after many meetings in a gloomy kitchen which was updated with the assistance of Doric Lodge in the early 2000's by converting the kitchen to storage cupboards and renovating a little used meeting room into a fine modern kitchen complete with dishwasher. The building was sold to the Seihk Society August 2010. One month later the interior was devasted by the first quake and the following February 's quake finished it off. The Crown Lodge now meets at The Canterbury Freemasons Centre 9 Shirley Road 1st Thursday monthly 7.10PM
